Thank you Church!We are so grateful for the generosity of our faith community! You heard of the need for diapers for babies in our community and you answered the call. Many boxes and packages of diapers and wet wipes have been donated. In fact, over 6,000 diapers will be shared with moms for their little ones! Thank you! Light on the Hill and Methodist Healthcare Ministries continue to reach out and walk alongside families in our community. Last week, we partnered with the Texas Department of Health and Human Services to host car seat inspections and help with updated car seats if needed and we shared diapers and wipes!
 Emmaus Events Other Events & Activities    Isn’t Pastor David’s sermon series, “Attitude of Gratitude” so good?!! Always a message I need, just when I need it. I love how our prayer warrior, Jane Davis shares this morning, too… Blessings, Beth I am praying for you this morning… Summer brings such an abundance of tasty crops… Strawberries, juicy and sweet. Tomatoes, flavorful. Peaches, luscious. Sweet corn, crisp and delicious… For me, abundance and gratefulness go hand-in-hand. We are in need… God provides. Do we remember to be grateful? Or, do we just take His mercy, grace and provision for granted, and move on? Stop right here. When we give gifts to our children, do we appreciate it when they say “thank you”? God loves it when we, His children, recognize and appreciate what He gives to us… Constantly. When we are grateful, it’s hard to complain. When we are grateful, it’s hard to feel sorry for ourselves. When we are grateful, it changes our attitude… About everything. “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of His glory in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19 “And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.” 2 Corinthians 9:8  We are approaching Memorial Day Weekend. Originally called Decoration Day, from the early tradition of decorating graves with flowers, wreaths and flags, Memorial Day is a day for remembering those who have died in service to our country. I hope we can all take the time to be thankful for all of the brave men and women who paid the ultimate price for the freedoms that we all have in America. It has been said that bravery is the absence of fear, but real courage is being afraid and still sacrificing for others. Thank you! You defended us with your lives and we are forever grateful!     What a wonderful time of worship this past Sunday! Every service was overflowing with love and encouragement for our graduating high school seniors and that gift of encouragement was contagious in the very best way! I love that we were able to write notes of encouragement both last week to our college graduates and this week to our high school graduates. I know that God filled me with the Holy Spirit to remind myself to share words and deeds that encourage and bless others. There are so many ways to encourage each other and I pray that together we can make a difference in the lives of many! Blessings, Beth     What a Great Month to Serve! April is Volunteer Appreciation Month, and at Kerrville First United Methodist Church and Light on the Hill at Mount Wesley, we are overflowing with gratitude for our unpaid servants! Our church family was many places, serving many people and epitomizing what being the hands and feet of Christ is all about. We had folks helping serve our neighbors at the San Antonio Food Bank’s Kerr County Mega Food Pantry, where we were blessed to share over 40,000 pounds of food with 350 families and almost 1,000 individuals! Our Mobile Mustard Seed unpaid servants were at a senior apartment complex providing friendship and healthy food for the residents. Our Saint’s Alive Choir blessed residents at local care facilities, too! We had unpaid servants all over town sharing homebound communion, visiting folks in the hospital, delivering food and meals, sending cards, making calls, driving and riding on the buses, teaching Sunday School, and just showing up to serve wherever needed. Thank you to everyone for sharing your prayers, your presence, your gifts, your service, and your witness to bless so many! We appreciate all you do!
