 I continue to be amazed by the outpouring of love and grace blanketing our community by so many! Thank you to everyone who has prayed and will continue to pray. Prayer is powerful. The last 19 days have been unbelievable.
I know that we have all been heartbroken, and on our knees, praying. But the response of the people who have shown up to help in big, and small ways, and everything in between, has been incredible. I thank God for the helpers. We have first responders from out of town staying with us at Light on the Hill and we are so incredibly blessed to be able to share our campus with these wonderful folks. I know that many of you, in our faith community are asking how they can help? Again, thank you for the prayers and everything else you have been doing for the last two and a half weeks. I want to encourage you to continue praying. Continue to show up to serve our community. Two opportunities we have coming up are Monday morning, July 28, beginning at 7am, we need volunteers to help at the Mega Food Pantry at Light on the Hill. On Saturday morning, August 2, we need folks to help greet and welcome families to the Back to School Bash at Light on the Hill beginning at 8am. Message from David Payne I am so grateful for Pastor David's leadership in our Kerrville community and most especially in our faith community. Please continue to pray for him and our entire staff as we are committed to serve those hurting and affected most by this tragedy. We have an amazing community and it is so heartwarming to see how everyone is working together to help our neighbors in need. We have an even more amazing God and we continue to lean into the peace and love and grace that only Christ can provide. Thank you to everyone for your prayers and for being the hands and feet of Christ. We are blessed to be able to serve others at a time such as this. Blessings, Beth Rev. From Jane Davis... I am praying for you this morning… Grief. Exhaustion. Courage. Strength. Grace. Hope. So many feelings… They swirl around in our heads, and cycle around, again and again. GRIEF overtakes us at unexpected times, in unpredictable ways. It’s important for all of us to experience it in our own way, and not push it down. It’s a normal feeling when tragedy strikes. EXHAUSTION…from worry, lack of sleep, working until you can’t lift one foot in front of the other. COURAGE to do the unexpected. To go the extra mile. To go places you don’t want to go…but have to. STRENGTH…that inner power, that only the Holy Spirit can give. Strength to go on. To move forward. To look up. GRACE. When feelings surface, and loving forgiveness is waiting. HOPE. No matter how the events of the past week have affected all of us, we all need to focus on the hope we have in Jesus, and His eternal presence with us, every minute. Let’s focus on the last one today…hope. Hope that the lost will be found. Hope that families will be comforted and find some peace. Hope that the thousands of amazing search, rescue and recovery workers will have what they need today. Hope for the countless volunteers providing whatever is needed, when it’s needed. Hope for tomorrow and the tomorrow’s to come, as our beautiful Hill Country becomes beautiful again. “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.   Anchored in His Presence In times like these, when rising waters bring loss and uncertainty, we hold fast to the promise of Isaiah 43:2—that God walks with us through every flood and fire. Even in the deepest waters, His presence remains our anchor and our peace. Now is the time to remain in prayer. Call out to God—for those who are hurting, for those offering help, and for our entire community. Pray for strength, healing, and hope. He hears us, and He is near. "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you." — Isaiah 43:2 Train to Assist The cost of the training is $30.00, but we want to ensure that finances are not a barrier for anyone who feels called to help. Canceled Summer Events Camp Wesley at Light on the Hill has been CANCELED Church resources are currently being directed toward assisting those impacted by the recent flooding in our community. As a result, we will be unable to hold our upcoming church events at this time. We appreciate your understanding and support as we care for our neighbors in need.
