Camp Eagle

This past week Grant Palmer and Pastor Katie took six of KFUMC youth to Camp Eagle in Rocksprings, Texas. We arrived with a little rain but that didn’t dampen our week one bit. 

​Throughout the week, we trekked through a little bit of mud and hiked about 26 miles overall. Our worship sessions were absolutely amazing and filled with the Holy Spirit. The Bible study speaker was fantastic and really helped us to see our scriptures in a new perspective. All of us learned our camp dance for the week and joined in a couple other dances as well. We also learned how to play new games like Bunny Bunny.

The kids enjoyed our team building activities like Shipwrecked, Drift Trikes, Underground Mine, and the 3D Web. Through these we got to learn a little more about each other and how to lean on each other for help. ​

Our high element activities included Super Swing, Sherpa, Rock Climbing, and the Zip 3000. These activities really got our youth to step out of their comfort zone and challenge themselves to try new things. ​

We especially loved our time swimming in the Nueces River because it was quite cool this year, which was a wonderful way to cool down after hiking to some of these activities. Together, we enjoyed the Waterfront twice during the week, and had fun with Water Barrels and Kayaking.

Church, thank you so much for helping us pour into the spiritual lives of our youth! We can’t wait to share more about our experience with you at worship on August 9th!
