ABOUT US

Light on the Hill at Mount Wesley (LOTH)is a 501c3 organization that offers a range of community-based support and outreach services to Kerrville, TX and the greater hill country including the 6 counties surrounding. We provide food relief, resources, counseling/wellness and educational services, and sit on 60+ acres and offer kids camps and adult spiritual retreats.

In early 2019, a new aim and group of initiatives was launched with the energy from Director Beth Palmer.  You can learn more about this in the Hill Country Community Journal Article.

Our Mission & Purpose

• ​To meet the great variety of needs in our community, we envision a networking group of individuals, families, civic organizations, schools, businesses, churches, and social agencies working together to make a difference in Kerrville and surrounding communities.
• We will utilize hundreds of volunteers and a multitude of services to offer a holistic approach to help people with their physical, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual needs.
• The multiple ministries and services available at Light on the Hill at Mt. Wesley will offer hope to people from all walks of life and as a result, genuine relationships will develop which become encouragement for everyone.
• We want to do whatever it takes to give everyone the opportunity to know Jesus Christ personally. We realize that authentic faith requires more than simply telling people about Jesus. We have to put “feet” to our faith. We do this by walking alongside our neighbors as we “do life” together.
•  It is our prayer that LOTH will be a “Light” on the hill for all who serve and are served. May the Holy Spirit permeate this place and may all go and make a difference in their homes, neighborhoods, and communities as a result.

OUR BOARD

LOTH is a non-profit corporation whose Board of Directors come from both the Kerrville Community and the Rio Texas Conference Board of Trustees that is a diverse group of individuals who each bring a wealth of insight through direct involvement and service. Our role is as follows:

• Ensure legal and ethical integrity and maintain accountability to the organization’s strategic plan
• Enhance and ensure the organization’s public image
• Pray for the mission of Light on the Hill to honor and glorify God
• Be actively involved in the mission and outreach of Light on the Hill

The mission of Light on the Hill is to love God and love our neighbors by sharing Jesus and the hope that He brings, to make a difference! At Light on the Hill, we are ordinary people commissioned by an extraordinary God to act justly, love mercy, and to walk humbly. (Micah 6:8) We desire to be in relationship with our neighbors, to call them, “Friend,” and to do life together, walking side-by-side, with each other and God.
