Serving the Nutritional and Spiritual Needs of the Community.

Mustard Seed Ministries 

It is our desire to be able to offer a “hand up” to our neighbors in need of some additional nutritious food. 
​We have a drive-thru food pantry in the Mustard Seed parking lot at Light on the Hill. People will stay in their car and we lovingly place healthy food into the trunk of your car. If you or someone you know could use this “hand up” please check our calendar for dates and times.

Mustard Seed Ministries at Light on the Hill is about neighbors helping neighbors. You and I are commissioned by God to love… to love Him and to love our neighbor. At Light on the Hill, we pray that loving others and sharing Jesus and the hope that He brings to life, would be such a natural part of who we are and how we live that we don’t call it ‘outreach’ or ‘mission’ but simply ‘living’ in community. We desire to have a long-term relationships with our neighbors so that we can truly call each other ‘friend.’
  • Mustard Seed Ministries operates with hundreds of unpaid servants. We couldn’t do what we do without the passion and faithfulness of our volunteers.
  • We listen to our neighbors and strive to match resources with needs. Listening to individuals’ stories is the most important thing we do and we are intentional in developing relationships with those we serve by meeting them where they are.
  • It is important to us to give voice to our neighbors and to remove as many barriers as possible to acquiring healthy food as well as other services.  It is key to developing relationships to learn their perspective on their concerns and recognize the uniqueness and value of their voice.
  • Local agencies and advocates meet regularly to share information and network so we can be more effective in our efforts to help our neighbors. Everyone needs an advocate!
  • We are so blessed to be a partner of the San Antonio Food Bank, a partner of Feeding America, as well as St. Vincent de Paul. These partnerships allow us to provide healthy food at a reduced cost.
  • Mustard Seed Ministries operates with hundreds of unpaid servants. We couldn’t do what we do without the passion and faithfulness of our volunteers.

If you do not have transportation or are homebound, call (830)315-6104 to schedule a home delivery.

If you have transportation but are working and cannot come to Mustard Seed on Monday mornings, call the number above or click below to schedule an appointment to get food. 

San Antonio Food Bank Mega Pantry 

The nonprofit San Antonio Food Bank conducts a monthly mobile pantry for Kerr County, one of the 16 counties it serves, typically sending around 36,000 pounds of food. People are instructed to line up their cars on the left side of Methodist Encampment Road. Volunteers will check in motorists, asking for their name, address and the number of people in their household. Signatures are required. For those people who have already registered as a food recipient with Mustard Seed, the volunteer will check their name off a list.

At LOTH we also assist individuals and families in achieving health and wellness through self-empowerment and access to healthcare resource information. We offer connections to resources through our Wesley Nurse and Outreach Director in collaboration with local agencies.
