Thoughts from Jane Davis... I am praying for you this morning… Things are always changing in our lives… We’re not as young as we were a minute ago. Children leave the nest. Floods, tornadoes and hurricanes change our lives and landscapes. We move from one place to another. Loved ones pass away. Our health changes. Life is different…will it ever be the same as it was yesterday? No. We are experiencing our “new normal." And, there’s hope in our new normal. God was with us in our yesterday… And He’s with us now… Creating. Again and again. That’s what He does. He’s The Creator. Things are different now…and He’s at work, Creating. Building. Restoring. Guiding. Each and every step of the process. And there’s progress. So, just when you’re settling into your new normal...Things will change again. But God never changes. Each of His days are normal for Him. No challenge is too big…for Him. Welcome to your new normal. “But for you who revere My name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its rays.” —Malachi 4:2 So Many Ways to Serve our Neighbors in our Community! Our KFUMC Emergency Response Team (ERT) has been a blessing in our community! the FEMA Individual Assistance registration deadline has been extended to September 28, 2025, for Texans impacted by the July 4th floods. FOOD 4 KIDS SERVANT TEAM IS AWESOME! Kerrville First United Methodist Church’s Food4Kids program provides food on the weekends for children experiencing food insecurity from our neighboring school, Nimitz Elementary. Other churches in our community have also adopted local schools in our county to be a blessing! KFUMC is currently helping 68 students and their families who do not have enough nutritious food to sustain them throughout the weekends. Many families depend on breakfast and lunch for their children at school and when school is not in session, like on weekends, it provides a hardship for the family. Our awesome unpaid servants help with the shopping, packing, delivering and distributing of the food to make this program possible. Food4Kids is a food relief ministry connected with our Mustard Seed Pantry. Thank you for supporting Food4Kids! |
