What a powerful Easter morning!!! More than 1,300 people joined us at Kerrville First United Methodist Church and Light on the Hill on Sunday morning to join together to celebrate our Risen Lord! Every morning is Easter morning from now on! There is a song that says, “I’m just a nobody, trying to tell everybody, there’s a somebody, who can save anybody.” And that name is JESUS. May we go out as the Easter People that we are and share the hope of Christ with everyone we meet! Kerrville and Ingram will be in the path of complete totality for the 2024 Solar Eclipse and are predicted to have prime totality times, Kerrville with 4 minutes and 24 seconds, and Ingram with 4 minutes and 26 seconds. Go to the city of Kerrville’s website to learn more. KFUMC and Light on the Hill love our community!

We will also be hosting first responders and visitors from NASA at Light on the Hill from Thursday through Tuesday. Plus, the KFUMC gym and assembly room will serve as an additional command center for first responders. Please join us in praying for a safe event in our community! If so, we'd like to invite you to join in a group photo shoot of Kerrville volunteers THIS Saturday, March 23rd at 2pm at the Museum of Western Art on Bandera Highway. Whether you volunteer on a regular basis or just on a project, we want you to be a part of this celebration that leads up to April's National Volunteer Month. The Mayor will be welcoming the group prior to the photo and there will be light refreshments and complimentary museum tour afterwards. We welcome all ages of volunteers - adults as well as youngsters. In addition, throughout the year we'll be spotlighting those who volunteer for our fabulous non-profits, either in health, education, social services, animal welfare, military or other worthy organizations. We've always felt that Kerrville is the most giving community in the Hill Country. Your participation will help us prove it! Do you remember that song, “I’ve got that joy, joy, joy, joy down in my heart, where? Down in my heart, where? Down in my heart to stay!” I used to sing that song with my kids when they were young, and then when they got older, if they were in a bad mood, I would sing it just to aggravate them. But in all seriousness, if we have Jesus, we have everything we need to have joy. Sometimes, when we are going through a difficult time, we need to be reminded of this. I pray joy over each of us today! Thank you to all of our amazing unpaid servants who blessed our community with wonderful food on Monday at the Mega Food Pantry! You brought joy to many! Thank you to all of our new unpaid servants who served at Mobile Mustard Seed on Tuesday! Methodist Healthcare Ministries Leadership Meeting!Mark your calendars for the Palm Sunday Celebration! We are not looking for a shallow joy but rather a joy that comes from faith. This joy grows through unselfish love and respects the fundamental duty of love of neighbor. Alleluia!
As Easter People, we thank God for all that is past, but look forward to all that is to come! He is risen! He is risen, indeed! Thanks to all that joined us in our March MEGA Food drive, and always thank you to the San Antonio Food Bank.
